Hello Primary ADM Families!

We all hope you have been having a relaxing and fun summer so far. Summer is in full swing in Primary ADM and Ms. Amanda, Ms. Jamie, and Ms. Shawn have returned to the classroom for the remainder of the summer! We are thrilled to be back, Summer Camp in Primary ADM provides such a wonderful opportunity for fun projects, field trips, and bonding! 

The children have been enjoying many fun, summertime exclusive activities and special projects! Spending time out on our play deck sunning and playing in the splashpad has been a classroom favorite along with exploring the water table, helping care for our school’s garden, and enjoying popsicles of course! We’ve also had the opportunity to go on group field trips to places like the Sister Cities splash pad to cool down Center City style, walking along the Schuylkill River Trail, and trips to Giant for classroom groceries. Everyone has loved participating in the different cooking projects such as popsicle making, smoothies, and banana bread! 

In the classroom, freezing objects in ice and allowing children to explore the forms is an extremely popular activity for the sensory bin. As summer continues we have begun to introduce different science projects such as making Oobleck! The children loved to explore this non-Newtonian form and discover different objects lying within it.

We have also taken a shine to large group projects! We are currently working on a large stamp painting, and painting Russian nesting dolls together which has been a blast!

The children have relished the opportunity to assist in the care of our classroom pet, Mariah Carey!

There have been exciting visits from guests each week including kicking goals with Soccer Shots, funky experiments with Mad Science, and the vibrant interactive musical stylings of Mr. David. We are currently looking forward to the annual Greene Towne shirt tie-dye! July was full of joy and creativity and we look forward continuing the fun in August.

As we start our steady march towards the new school year please keep your eyes out for more information and communications regarding it. We hope you enjoy the rest of your summer and get a chance to take it slow and relax!☺️

Reminders:

• Fridays we have Soccer Shots, please make sure your child comes in closed toed shoes so they can safely join in on the fun.
• We will keep and launder your child’s swim stuff here at school. If you need any items back for a family trip, beach excursion, or any activities please let us know!
• Ms. Maggie, Teacher Bailey, and Ms. Allison are currently on summer break through 8/21.

8/25: Last day of camp!

8/28-9/1: Professional Development ALL GTMS CLOSED

9/4: Labor Day ALL GTMS CLOSED

9/5: Begin Phase in for 23-24 school year!
