Greetings Parents,
Camp session three has come to an end.
Here are some highlights from the past two weeks of camp.
Art and Science with Miss Allison

The primary children worked on an art meets science experiment with Allison.
Alison began with a discussion. She asked the children, “What do you know about volcanoes?”
Some answers: “they are hot”, “they are in Hawaii”, “they are loud when they erupt”.

Allison demonstrated how to make volcanoes out of air-dry clay. The children molded them around a cup, leaving some room in the center to add a combination of baking soda, vinegar and sugar to simulate an eruption.
An Outing at Coxe Park

The toddlers ventured out to get some fresh air and sunshine at Coxe Park.
A Trader Joe’s Run

Our primary children take walks regularly. This past week a few made a stop at Trader Joe’s. They had two important items on their shopping list: cornichons and plants.
Soccer Shots

The children practiced a new skill called chopping.
Chopping: kicking the ball with the inside of the foot to change the direction.
They tried this skill to pass the ball, move around traffic cones and score goals.

They also spent some time passing and trapping (catching the ball with their foot) back and forth with the coaches.
Gentle Reminders

The summer morning schedule differs a bit from the school year days. Events and special guests such as Mad Science, Soccer Shots and water play begin as early as 9 am.
To give your child ample time to settle in and prepare, we kindly request that you please try to arrive before 9:00am for drop off each morning.

Best regards,
Cherise
