All Day Montessori Support Teacher All Year

Greene Towne Montessori School, located in Center City, Philadelphia, is dedicated to providing a stimulating learning environment for children ages 18 months through 9 years, consistent with the values and principles developed by Dr. Maria Montessori. Greene Towne Montessori School instills in young children an understanding of learning as a personal process, a sense of agency in building self and community, and the joy of possibility.

The Greene Towne Montessori School ADM Support Teacher provides classroom support in response to changing needs each day. Duties include organizing activities for children; substituting as needed; supporting lunch, recess, and nap; guiding children in their work; replenishing materials; cleaning and disinfecting the classroom and helping children with transitions moving through the building and up to the rooftop play deck. The ADM Support Teacher reports to the Head of School, Montessori Director/Dean of Faculty, Senior Administrative Assistant or Lead Teacher as assigned.  This position requires flexibility and a broad range of skills, with energetic adaptability to changing needs each day and provides an excellent experience for those who are looking to explore Montessori early childhood education.

All Day Montessori Toddler Lead Teacher- Immediate Opening

Fully accredited by the American Montessori Society and the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools, Greene Towne Montessori School instills in young children an understanding of learning as a personal process, a sense of agency in building self and community, and the joy of possibility.

Greene Towne’s “All-Day Montessori” program was created specifically for students and their families who look for care beyond the typical school day and calendar. The extension of our classroom environment builds a unique community specifically set-up for children who stay at school all day. The All-Day Montessori classroom with fewer transitions during the day gives the children consistency of place, teaching staff and activity with the same Montessori philosophy and teaching methods, and designed to meet the physical, emotional, social, and intellectual development of children as all our programs. Families have options to enroll for 9 months or 12 months. Children are guided by morning and afternoon teaching teams, with total program hours from 8am-6pm. Teaching teams work from 7:45am-4, or late morning through 6pm.

Greene Towne Montessori School is seeking qualified candidates for the position of a Toddler Lead Teacher.

The Toddler Lead Teacher will:

  • Plan and deliver high fidelity Montessori instruction to 18 months – 3 year students
  • Provide a nurturing and caring space for students and a well-managed classroom environment
  • Develop lesson plans and maintain daily records of children’s activities and progress
  • Supervise and train the Assistant Teacher (with support from the Montessori Director) and meet with them regularly to discuss classroom work and goals,
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills for:
    • Regular, proactive communication with families throughout the school year
    • Presenting parent education talks according to GTMS’s parent education series schedule
    • Hosting informational parent coffee events twice a year (Fall & Spring)
    • Writing conference reports and conducting parent teacher conferences twice per year (November & March)
  • Qualifications: Montessori Infant/Toddler Certification (MACTE), five or more years of experience in a Toddler Montessori environment preferred. Greene Towne Montessori School is seeking individuals that have a love for children, possess a growth-mindset, are organized self-starters, are a team player and are flexible and sensitive to the needs that arise in the life of an active school. Experience with Transparent Classroom and Google Suite helpful.

  • Title: Toddler Assistant Teacher: All Day Montessori, (7:45am-3:00pm, OR, 10:45am-6:00pm) year-round position
    Greene Towne Montessori School is seeking candidates for the position of a Toddler Assistant Teacher for its All Day Montessori Program. The Toddler All Day Montessori (ADM) Assistant will assist the Montessori Lead Teacher in the classroom. Duties of the Toddler Assistant include helping to maintain a beautiful Montessori Toddler environment, adherence to the Department of Human Services Standards, maintenance and upkeep of the classroom, assisting with diapering and toileting, guiding the children’s learning, preparing classroom materials, leading circle time on occasion, as well as cooking and craft projects. The Toddler Assistant will help with the toddlers in becoming more independent and capable people.
  • Qualifications: Early Childhood teaching experience required. Montessori experience is helpful.
