Welcome Back Parents!
We cooled down during week 6 with the theme of Antarctica. The children explored this continent through art, science and classroom activities.
Painting with Ice
Using the frigid temperatures of Antarctica as inspiration, the toddlers engaged in some process art by painting with ice. They used water-colored ice cubes to create their work.
The Clay Studio
This week in 3D art, the children made penguins, polar bears and snowmen.
They use a dowel to scratch and attach the separate parts of their sculpture.
The creations were decorated with small beads and pipe cleaners.
Soccer Shots
The primary children tried a new skill called step fake. Here they take a step over the ball with one foot and kick it with the other.
The toddlers practiced catching and trapping by passing the ball back and forth with the coach before scoring goals.
Mad Science
Our friends from Mad Science returned this week to do a workshop called “Smoke and Bubbles”.
The primary children were introduced to dry ice, and the three states of matter: solid, liquid and gas.
Enjoy your weekend!
Warm regards,
Cherise
