Welcome back Parents,
During week 5 of camp we followed the theme of Australia.
Mr. David Perry
Mr. David Perry came for a visit and performed an Australian themed concert for the toddlers and primary children.
He sang songs about many animals native the continent of Australia including kangaroos, wallabies and koalas.
Here is his rendition of the Kookaburra Song
He invited the children to collaborate with him on a drawing and had the teachers join him for a song. The children truly enjoyed that!
Aboriginal Inspired Dot Painting
The toddlers made dot paintings. They used circular sponges to make large dots and cotton swabs to make small dots.
Each child chose a kangaroo, turtle or gecko to complete their work.
The Clay Studio
Our friends from The Clay Studio returned to do a bug project.
The children shaped their clay and created all sorts of insects and small creatures. This included spiders, butterflies, snails and caterpillars. They embellished their clay with pipe cleaners and a selection of beads.
Soccer Shots
This week the children revisited some prior skills and practiced a few new ones.
A new skill was introduced to the primary children called “chopping”. Chopping: kicking the ball with the inner and outer sides of the foot.
Meanwhile, the toddlers practiced “big kicks” using the top of the foot to kick the ball for scoring goals.
Super Circle Time with Miss Nicole
Miss Nicole dropped in with the primary campers for a Super Circle Time which included some unique songs and lively stories.
This is snippet of one of the children’s all time favorites, Mr. Green and Mr. Brown
Enjoy the weekend!
Warm regards,
Cherise
