Spring in Maple Tree! Part 1

It is my distinct pleasure to bring you this latest batch of scenes from a Greene Towne Montessori School childhood, Maple Tree style! I find the memories we’ve made this year inspiring, and I hope you do too!

Life was humming along as usual in the Maple Tree classroom…

…when, to our surprise and delight, a farmer came to Greene Towne and introduced us to Henrietta the hen and Henry the noisy rooster. She left 12 eggs in our care, inside their warm incubator.

“I think they’re hatching. Is that a pip hole?” came the wonderings of many curious classmates. No, we would have to wait one entire week, watching over them, keeping water in the incubator trough, and turning the eggs each day, until finally, one day (on a Monday…)

They hatched! Spring had truly arrived with a healthy brood of noisily peeping hatchlings in the room.

The experience must have given us a burst of creativity, with ideas sprouting just like some windowsill seeds!

I hope you’ve enjoyed this installment. Stay tuned for an additional Maple tree early spring redux!
And thank you, parents and children, for an incredible teacher appreciation week! We felt so appreciated and also grateful for the work we do.

Warm wishes,
Katie and Sherri
