Dear Parents,

We are excited to announce Session 4 of our 2023-2024 After School Enrichment classes, starting April 9 (no Monday Class in the first week). We wrap up our 2023-2024 ASE program with some perennial favorites as well as some new opportunities.

Classes are open to 2nd/3rd year Primary, Kindergarten, and Lower Elementary students unless otherwise noted.

The fee for each 8-week session is $200 per student ($175 for the 7-week session of Modern Dance.) Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis and must be accompanied by payment.

You may register through the mygtms.org parent module and select “Programs” or use this link ASE.

We do our best to accommodate each child’s preference, but classes can become oversubscribed. In this case, we start a waiting list. If demand warrants it and the instructor is available, additional classes may be offered.

We’ll notify you of which classes your child will be in and if your child is on the waiting list. Children already at school are accompanied to class by Greene Towne staff. Children coming from home may return to school at 3:00 and we’ll accompany them to the class. For questions, please contact Eileen Doyle.

Mondays: 7 weeks from April 15 – June 3 (no class May 27 and no makeup day)

Modern Dance and Creative Movement with Ms. Aliya

Come dance! The class infuses genres such as ballet, jazz, hip hop, and acro, and is geared towards both beginners and children with dance experience. Students will explore moving creatively, build gross motor skills, grow their knowledge of dance and, of course, have fun! Families are invited to an end-of-the-session performance/demonstration to see what we have learned.

Tuesdays: 8 weeks from April 9 – May 28 (make-up day June 4)

Group Singing with Settlement Music

Students will explore the world around us through song. The focus will be on musical skills like aural training, tempo, rhythm, and singing as a group through creative play and music-making.

Martial Arts with Martial Postures Studio

Students will begin to learn the underlying foundation of Martial Arts with focus on developing physical skills such as strength, flexibility, coordination, and agility as well as the focus, respect, courtesy, compassion, kindness and drive required of a martial artist. Children have fun while drills and exercises condition their minds and bodies.

Wednesdays: 8 weeks from April 10 – May 29 (make-up day June 5)

Clay Creations with Marissa Turner

Using hand-building techniques, students will create jewelry and other small crafts with clay. They will utilize different types of hand clay and learn how it interacts with water, heat, and air. We will also experiment with different dyeing techniques to influence the final color of each project.

Arts & Crafts with Sara Pasquarello

Each week students will make a different project to take home using all types of materials and crafting skills; cutting, gluing, painting, sculpting, etc. We’ll follow a guided lesson for each project and also have time for the students to use the materials in their own creative way.

Thursdays: 8 weeks from April 11 – May 30 (make-up day: June 6)

Cooking with Ms. Desiree

Students will cook, bake, and taste foods from a variety of cultures. We will meet in the 2nd floor cooking studio, so get ready to put on your aprons and chef’s hats!

Dance and Movement Exploration with Settlement Music

Students will explore the world around them through creative dance and expression. Movement is a wonderful way to develop fine and gross motor skills, self-confidence, and social skills. Lessons are tailored to fit children’s needs so they feel successful and empowered!

Soccer Shots

Students explore the wonderful world of soccer through engaging, high energy, fun, and age-appropriate games that teach basic soccer skills like dribbling, passing and shooting while focusing on character development.
