Sarah Shares: Happy New Year!

As we say in the education business, Happy New Year!

It is wonderful to begin this year in one unified space! Our new home allows us to imagine and act on ideas for collaboration and cross-classroom connections that were not previously possible. 

It also allows us to reach more children and families. We’ve grown by 25 children from last year to this, and expect more to be joining us. We’ve added two classrooms this year: Lower Elementary for grades 1-3 and an additional Toddler All Day Montessori Classroom. We’ve also expanded programming for our Montessori & Me playgroups, and now take our show on the road into different neighborhoods each week with Circle Time with Ms. Olivia. 

In addition to the new programs that I shared with families over the summer (expanded after school enrichment programs, lunch available for purchase, Early Bird Care), I’m excited to share that MUSIC class returns to Greene Towne beginning next week!

Through a new partnership with Settlement Music School, experienced musicians will teach Primary and Lower Elementary students at Greene Towne. 

On Thursday mornings, First and Second Year Primary students will have Children’s Music Workshop with Ms. Cathy. Children’s Music Workshop is a combination of movement and music, while learning rhythms and basic music concepts. On Thursday afternoons Mr. Zach will teach Instrumental Music to Kindergarteners and Lower Elementary students with a focus on the ukulele. (As a lifelong learner, I’m hoping to join in to pick up some skills! I’ll let you know how it goes!) Settlement Music School will also lead two After School Enrichment classes: Creative Movement and Singing Circles. Settlement Music School is widely renowned for music instruction. Greene Towne is widely renowned for early childhood education–We’re a great match! 

The new school year brings us together with fresh eyes for a new year of growth and change. I’m thrilled to be launching this new year with all of you.
