On Monday, January 16, 2023, Greene Towne families observed Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Day of Service by preparing Birthday Boxes for children living in shelters. This event was hosted by the Community Service Committee of the Greene Towne Parent Association (GPA), chaired by Liv Lee, in cooperation with the Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Committee, chaired by Nahla Khalek. Many thanks everyone for making this event a great success.
In addition to this service project, perfect for families with children in the Toddler to Kindergarten age group, there were also opportunities to learn about Dr. King and his legacy. Families were provided with this handout, created by the GPA, filled with resources, information, and activities in the city.
Below are some photos from the event. Please enjoy!
