Recently the Kindergarteners celebrated Lunch Around the World in Western Europe! Specifically, the children were able to try cuisine from Portugal and the Netherlands! Recently the Kindergarteners celebrated Lunch Around the World in Western Europe! Specifically, the children were able to try cuisine from Portugal and the Netherlands! The delicious menu consisted of Gehaktballen met jus (Dutch Meatballs), Prakken (Mashed potatoes), Pannenkoeken (Dutch Baby Pancakes), Massa Sovada (Portuguese Sweet Bread), Arroz de Tomate (Portuguese Rice), and Pasteis de Nata (Portuguese Custard Tart).
The tables were decorated with lovely tupils, and the Ks had wonderful packets about Portugal and the Netherlands to color and read while the food was passed out by our hosts and many parent helpers.

Lunches Around the World and Field Trips for the Kindergarteners are part of the rich curriculum of the Kindergarten year at Greene Towne.
