Martin Luther King Day of Service

Where: GTMS West Movement Room
Each year, GTMS families participate in the Martin Luther King Day of Service by completing a charitable project. This year, we will again be assembling and decorating birthday boxes for children in homeless and domestic abuse shelters. Each box includes all the necessities for a family to throw a birthday party for their child: cake mix, frosting, and candles for a cake, decorations; a book and a small gift; and a birthday card that our children will make for them. Our birthday boxes not only give a birthday party to a child who may not otherwise have one, but they also give a family the ability to do something special for their child.
One hour time slots from 9:00am – 12:00pm are available for each participating family. A total of 24 slots are available initially, with more added if those become full. Please RSVP here for the event:
To cover the cost of materials for the birthday boxes, a $20 payment per family will be accepted the day of the project; cash or check payable to GTMS are both accepted.
