Angst Film Screening and Panel Discussion

October 2, 6:00 p.m. in the Blauvelt Theatre at Friends Select School
Light refreshments will be served.
This event is free, but RSVP required.

Friends Select is hosting a free screening of Angst: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety, an IndieFlix documentary that explores the multilayered effects of anxiety on our society. This 56-minute film includes interviews with children and teenagers discussing their anxiety, as well as advice from mental health professionals. It also features an interview with Michael Phelps, a mental health advocate and the most decorated Olympic athlete of all time.

Korean Harvest Festival

Age: 3-8

Price: Non-member adults $19; Non-member youth (3-18) $10; Children under 3 are free; Member are free.

With paid garden admission, visitors can celebrate traditional and modern Korean culture featuring music, tours, and free samples. Guides are available to lead an exploration of the Korean plants of the Arboretum’s 92-acre botanical collection.

South Philly SausageFest festival goers can expect an event filled with music, food, and fun. The festival is held in the Newbold/West Passyunk neighborhood and features diverse restaurants, local craft breweries, live music shows, arts & crafts vendors, and an entertaining kids’ play area.

Puerto Rican Festival Parade

Sun Sep 30, 2018, 12:30pm to 2:30pm

Age: All ages

Price: Free

Celebrate the Latino culture during this annual Puerto Rican Festival Parade on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Crowds can expect to hear traditional Latino music and poetry, to see dancers and performances. Those who can’t make the festival can watch it live on 6ABC.
