Welcome back families!

As we turn the page and welcome Fall and the start of a new school year, both children and teachers are met with many changes in our classroom accompanied by comforts of the familiar. Some of these new changes include two new teachers, some added friends from another classroom, and a slightly modified daily schedule. I am very happy and excited to take on the role of new teacher, along with my Assistant, Cara Fiordimondo. Your children have stepped right up to these changes with curiosity and adaptability.

It has been nice to step back into the familiarity of our classroom space, the work on the shelves, and the joy of seeing old friends and meeting new ones.

While the classroom looks a bit fuller with the school’s cozy plan in action, we have ample time scheduled in to experience our own community circle time and recess together. We also have the pleasure of welcoming Ms. Diana every Tuesday for group art activities and a special Kindergarten art time later in the afternoon.

The beginning of the year is often rooted in finding comfort in routine and structure. This includes refreshing our classroom rules, lessons of grace and courtesy, practicing familiar work from last year and exploring new materials.

As we anticipate another great year, it is important to remember that change is always on the horizon. There is so much growth and change that takes place at an individual level with each child. These are exciting times! Equally so is the importance of familiarity and dependability. That being said, we will continue to stay in touch with Mr. Och throughout the school year as we await his return next year. The Kindergarteners have already started this process!

Warm Regards,

Anne
