Greetings Parents,

Summer camp week two was a blast!

Your children enjoy fresh air and sunshine on our play deck each day. They also partake in some cool movement time indoors. Here is Mr. Patrick and some of our primary children navigating an obstacle course.

For this week’s African theme, Miss Desiree’s toddlers made a Serengeti project.

The children learned about Adinkra stamping.
Adinkra (ah-DEEN-krah) cloth is a hand-printed fabric made in Ghana. Developed by the Ashanti people, symbols are used to create patterns on the cloth to tell a story or to express thoughts or feelings. Traditionally, Adinkra cloth is produced by dipping stamps into ink, and pressing them against the cloth to create a pattern. Using this process for inspiration, the children used stamps of African animals and fun symbols to embellish their tote bags.

During soccer this week, the children revisited some skills that were introduced last week: control and dribbling.
They took turns maneuvering their ball around some cones, scored some goals and participated in a scrimmage game.

Some friendly reminders for drop off and pick up….

  • Park carefully in the loading zone (so as not to block the driveways on either side of GTMS).
  • Please complete your child’s health survey daily. This needs to be done each morning before drop off.
High five!

Enjoy your weekend!

Best regards,
Cherise
