We are pleased to invite guests to Greene Towne for Grandparents and Special Friends Day for the first time since 2019! This special day is for Primary aged students to show off their work and classroom to grandparents or a special friend.

Everything You Need to Know About Grandparents and Special Friends Day

  • Grandparents and Special Friends Day is a Primary only event.
  • Parents, please remember this is a day for guests to visit. Every child may not have a visitor, and that’s okay! Having guests in the classroom is already exciting. Having a parent visit can be confusing and/or upsetting.  We are always happy to have parents visit for birthday circles, craft or cultural projects, and other special events!
  • Visitors should be no younger than age 13.
  • School will be open for normal hours, but we do encourage parents to make it an early day for their child if possible.

Guests of 1st year Primary students attend from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.

Guests of 2nd & 3rd Year Primary students attend from 11:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m.

ALL Guests of Kindergarteners should arrive at 1:15 p.m. at for a special program and classroom visit until 2:15 p.m.

Quick FAQs

Change of Dismissal: While we encourage families to arrange for children to be dismissed with their guests (parent permission is on the registration) we know that this isn’t possible for everyone. However, for children who are leaving at any time besides their normal dismissal time, we need to have that dismissal on file for this event. Guests may not leave the building with a child if we don’t have a change in dismissal on file, so even if you are picking up your child and the guest, please let your guests know that we cannot allow your child to wait outside with them unless there is a Change of Dismissal on file.

Make sure we have your guest’s FIRST and LAST names. In the past we have hosted between 50-75 guests for each time slot! To make sure we get the right people to the right places we have name tags set up for each visitor, including which child they belong to. We will also be sending them a memento in the mail!

Thank you so much for your help in making this a safe and fun experience for your guests and the children!

Here’s a quick message from Nicole to explain the day!
