Spring – Ms. Jen and Ms. Sara

Hello Parents!

We love spring! How are we celebrating the season? We cared for chicken eggs that hatched into chicks. We have painted lady caterpillars that are going through a metamorphosis and will soon emerge as butterflies. We planted seeds, watched them grow and transplanted them into the garden on the roof deck of 2121. One of our favorite books right now is My Baby Blue Jays. It’s a true story about a mama and papa blue jay who made a nest, laid eggs and cared for their babies on a balcony in Brooklyn.

A big thank you to the parents who volunteered to help us on Earth Day. We had lots of fun making a new home for our worms, planting flower seeds for the roof deck and lettuce seeds to take home. Have you eaten your lettuce yet?

Some current popular works are the Stamp Game, Small Bead Frame, Continent Maps, Parts of the Animals puzzles and cards, weaving, apple slicing, carrot slicing, Knobbless Cylinders, anise transferring, Teen Boards and READING (both reading practice and relaxing in the library).

Although we didn’t snap many photos to prove it, Grandparents and Special Friends Day was a hit! Thank you so much for sending us your visitors. Your children really loved having their loved ones spend time in their classroom.

Lastly, thank you so much for the teacher appreciation “hands”, cards, pictures and gifts. We truly enjoy spending our days with your children!
