Tuition Assistance for the 2024-2025 School Year

Thank you for your interest in applying to Greene Towne Montessori School! 

Greene Towne is committed to providing access to our school for those children who would be unable to attend without financial help. Since its start in 1966, Greene Towne has offered tuition assistance as part of our founders’ vision for a “racially, religiously, and economically integrated school.” Tuition assistance is based on a family’s demonstrated need and the availability of funds. Admissions decisions are made independently of tuition assistance requests and all families who feel they may qualify for tuition assistance are encouraged to inquire.

Greene Towne is proud to partner for the first time with Clarity to determine our families’ level of need in tuition assistance. Clarity brings several benefits to the tuition assistance process: 

• They link directly to your IRS tax return so you will not need to upload tax returns. If we require further documentation due to a change in employment status, we may ask for the immediate year’s tax returns or other proof of income to verify changes.
• Tuition rates will be posted directly on the Clarity application. Simply select your child’s anticipated schedule — listed as “grades”– to auto-fill the appropriate tuition. Currently, 2023-2024 tuition rates are listed. The Greene Towne board will approve 2024-2025 tuition soon and we will update Clarity as soon as possible but you do not need to wait until then to start or submit your application.

For re-enrolling families, Tuition Assistance requests are due no later than January 5, 2024  for the 2024-2025 school year and awards will be communicated before your child’s re-enrollment is due on February 1, 2024.

To get started, please go to the Clarity Application and create an account. The application typically takes less than 30 minutes to complete. The application is also mobile-friendly so you may complete it from anywhere. You’re able to save your progress and return at any time. At the end of the application, there is a $60 fee to submit. 

For assistance, there is in-app support available through the “Help” button in the bottom left of the screen, as well as email and phone support at support@clarityapp.com or 206-210-3752, in both English and Spanish. The application itself is also fully translated into Spanish.

If materials are not submitted on the designated dates, families may be put on a waitlist for tuition assistance. Greene Towne Montessori has limited funds available to assist qualifying families with tuition costs. Clarity’s reports provide the Tuition Assistance Committee with an assessment of a family’s ability to pay tuition, ensuring objectivity, consistency, and fairness in allocating the school’s limited funds. Clarity does not decide who receives assistance or the amount of assistance offered; it simply provides analysis and information to help schools make informed, consistent, and equitable decisions. 

All decisions concerning tuition assistance are the responsibility of the Greene Towne Montessori School Tuition Assistance Committee and are based on demonstrated need and available funds. The Tuition Assistance Committee is made up of the Head of School, the Director of Finance, and the Co-Directors of Enrollment Management. Tuition Assistance decisions are confidential and every effort is made to protect the privacy of the applicants.
