New adventures

As we celebrate our school year and get ready for summer, we are also taking time to appreciate and send best wishes to a few of our colleagues who are moving on to new adventures.

  • Toddler Assistant Teacher Abbie Ege, who this year worked with Ms. Desiree and the older toddlers, leaves us to pursue teaching art.

  • After 4 years at Greene Towne, Toddler ADM Assistant Teacher Qays Luke is moving on to explore new projects and directions. Qays is a special friend to children across classrooms, and will be sorely missed by all of us! (Though we’re glad to know he’ll be helping with summer camp!)

  • Our movement teacher Talia Mason leaves us to begin UC-Riverside’s MFA program in Experimental Choreography. Since 2016 Talia has guided all of our students in increasing coordination of their mind-body connection through playful movement games and all the best hits to dance to at recess!

Each of these teachers has brought their own unique spark to their work and to the connections they have built with our children and families. We wish them all the best in their lifetime of learning! I invite you to reach out to share your appreciation to them individually.

Friendly faces in new/returning roles

This fall we are excited that three colleagues will take on new and returning roles:

  • Laura Connor is returning from her year-long maternity leave and resumes her role as Toddler Lead Teacher. (AND daughter Echo joins us as well!)

  • Patrick Sutch will serve as co-lead teacher with Desiree McNeill in the older toddler classroom at the East Campus.

  • Congratulations to Dominique Wells for taking on the Toddler ADM PM Lead Teacher role permanently, having held the role this year as she completed her Montessori toddler certification.

  • We look forward to welcoming Anna Matsukevich back to her role as Primary Lead Teacher in the fall, after her medical leave this past spring. Anna’s knee is healing well and she is excited to be “back in the saddle again.” We send our heartfelt gratitude to the dynamic duo who covered in Anna’s stead: Erin Buonadonna as interim lead teacher and Tina Urban as assistant teacher. Thanks for a wonderful spring, Erin and Tina!

We are in the process of interviewing candidates for open positions, and I’ll be sure to update you when we have more information. Feel free to reach out if you have questions.
