New chapters
It’s a pretty emotional time of year for those of us who work in schools, and let’s face it, for parents everywhere! We can look at our children, squint just a little bit, and simultaneously see them as their former younger selves and the growing up people they have become. Of course we are all a result of our accumulated experience, and the people we have known and communities that we have been a part of have a profound influence on us long afterwards.
One of the things I love most about schools is how dynamic these communities are. Each year, we have new people joining us, and even those who return are all developmentally different each year, making our cycles of building community fresh and new each time. As we close the 2018-19 school year, I send all of my best wishes to all of you for a wonderful summer with thanks for the full and vibrant school year we have experienced at Greene Towne.
Don’t get me started! Pass the tissues! The joy we feel at watching our young people grow is wide and deep. Many thanks to each of you for sharing and trusting your wonderful children with us. We are all the better for it. Enjoy the summer!
