Parents have two opportunities during the school year, once in the fall and once in the spring, to observe their child in the classroom. Observations give you a chance to see your child in action and later discuss anything of note with your teacher during conferences. We welcome and encourage parents to take advantage of this unique opportunity.
In keeping with safety precautions, we will invite parents to observe virtually. Sign ups for observations will be sent out soon, but in the meantime here is a quick rundown of what a virtual observation entails:
- A staff member will live stream a feed from inside the classroom from a tablet.
- All observations will be live streamed, not recorded for privacy.
- The stream will be muted – the classroom is full of busy work and the mic can pick up distracting noise.
- All parents in a given classroom will be able to watch the live stream.
- Parents will be invited to sign up for observation slots.
- There will be two slots for every classroom, and all slots are 30 minutes. Parents are welcome to sign up for one or both slots.
- Zoom links may not be shared with other family or friends. Thank you for your cooperation in this safety precaution.
If anyone has any questions or concerns, or chooses to opt their child out, please contact Nicole Leapheart (nleapheart@gtms.org).
Thank you!
