March Blog (Desiree McNeill)

Now that the children are understanding the order and layout of their new classroom, they are settling back into a great work cycle. They are rediscovering work and are excited to be introduced to new materials that help to strengthen skills and add challenges.

At this time of the year, the children are also in a social stage of development. They are forming bonds with each other, helping each other and love working together as a group.

We are working on the continents and are now focusing on Africa.

As a reminder, observations begins Monday 4/10 and conferences are on Friday 4/21 and Friday 4/28.

The children worked with Ms. Allison on an all school auction project:

Making guacamole is always fun!

They always look forward to playing in the movement room.

We welcome visitors, especially when a book is invloved.

Enjoy the photos of the children at work!

“I found that they [little children] used the material with great attention and for a long time; they showed interest, a spontaneous interest. But why were they so interested? Why did they work with this material for such long periods? Evidently it was because they needed to develop something fundamental.”
