The Kindergarten students were very excited to visit PAFA recently! The walked from Greene Towne to the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, a very exciting trip in itself. Once the Ks arrived, they took the Making American Artists: History Connected Through Art tour:
Engage your critical thinking, observation, and discussion skills focusing on the theme of, “Who gets to tell the story?” in American art and history. The tour visits PAFA’s collection, currently presented in Making American Artists exhibition, and explores some of the historic genres of art, namely, portraiture, history painting, still life, genre scenes, and landscape. Juxtaposing artworks from different time periods, the exhibition layout provides striking visual counterpoints that encourage new dialogues about who makes American art, and thus, American history and identity.

The Kindergarten students created some art of their own and had a blast!
Many thanks to Ashwini, Ava, Jaya, and Veera’s families for sharing photos, and Ms. Diana, too!
