The first Kindergarten Lunch Around the World destination was to the Mediterranean! We took the Ks to Aya’s Cafe, a delicious restaurant conveniently located right next door to the East building. The students tried some familiar foods like chicken fingers, fries, and veggies, but also tried some delicious ethnic fare like grape leaves, hummus, and baba ghanough! There was also a surprise as one Kindergartener ran into his dad having lunch, too!
We kick off the Kindergarten Lunch Around the World annually at Aya’s Cafe with staff and students so that the Kindergarteners can practice grace and courtesy and polite table manners, then show them off later as parents take over as LATW hosts. Aya’s Cafe is owned by a Greene Towne alum parent, and Aya and her sister Layla are alumni!
Lunches Around the World and Field Trips for the Kindergarteners are part of the rich curriculum of the Kindergarten year at Greene Towne.
