We are excited to remind you that our annual Food Drive kicks off this Monday, March 11th!
This year, our food Drive will benefit Philadelphia’s SHARE Food Program. Philadelphia
SHARE provides a reliable stream of nutritious food to a network of 505 local volunteers-
fed food cupboards. In addition to providing emergency food relief, SHARE also runs a
community garden, providing residents in the surrounding community with increased
access to local produce. Last year, SHARE brought 27 million pounds of emergency food
relief to low-income Philadelphia residents facing hunger.
The GTMS Food Drive will run from March 11th to 14th. Please bring non-perishable food
items to donation boxes located at the school entrance, 55 N. 22nd Street. For suggestions on what to donate, please see the SHARE provided list. Once the Food Drive is over, our Kindergarteners and Lower El classes will help sort the donations with their emerging reading skills.
