Greetings Parents,
Welcome to the Azure Classroom blog. Our blog will be posted at the start of each month. Here you will find upcoming events and get a glimpse of what is happening in our classroom. We are a month into the school year and your children are settling in quite nicely. They are actively building their own routines through exploring work and their experiences in the classroom.

Drop off is going smoothly. The children’s footsteps journey down the hall with less reluctance and more anticipation to enter the classroom. A few get a little help from their siblings.

The Joys of the Multi-age Grouping

Toddlers develop skills through observing others. They absorb everything within their view. When teachers present work to them, very few words are used so that the focus is on our hand movements and the task or work itself. Children who are just starting school as young as 18 months old, are welcomed by our returning children who are approaching the age of 3 this school year. As educators and Montessorians we are merely facilitators in these key connections. The most valuable lessons all of our children learn come from each other. Our returners share their skills, show and tell new students “it’s okay”. While our new students watch returners and mimic their actions, seeing this as a natural guide for the manner in which they too can engage in work in the classroom and also play at recess.

Thursday, October 12th and Friday, October 13th: Picture Day
Saturday, October 14: Friends and Family Open House from 9am-11am
Sunday, October 22: Family Social at Walk at the Rail Park from 10am-12pm
