Welcome back Parents,
We made it to session 5 of summer camp. Here are a few highlights from our final camp week together.
Gymnastics

National Kids Gym returned for another exciting visit, and the children absolutely loved it! Before getting started, they kicked off their shoes and got ready for an active morning of movement and fun.

They began the session with a musical warm-up and stretching activities led by their coach, getting their bodies moving and preparing for the activities ahead. The children then practiced their tumbling skills and had a chance to swing on a hanging bar, building strength, coordination, and confidence as they moved.

They also put their balance and concentration to the test by carefully walking backward across a balance beam. The children were eager to challenge themselves, try new movements, and cheer one another on. It was wonderful to see their excitement and confidence grow as they developed important gross motor skills through active play!
Our 8th Annual Tie Dye Pizza Party

Tie Dye: Why do we do it? Simply put, it’s our thing! But there’s also a special story behind this beloved tradition that some of you may already know.

About eight years ago, on the last day of camp, a student from our ADM classroom was enjoying pizza while looking around the room at everyone dressed in their tie-dye shirts. With excitement, he exclaimed, “Look at us! We are all wearing tie-dye! It’s a Tie-Dye Pizza Party!” From that joyful moment, a tradition was born.

Much like Pajama Day and our newer Greene Towne Spirit Day celebration during the school year, our Tie-Dye Pizza Party has become a cherished part of our summer program. Children and adults alike join in the fun. It brings our community together in a colorful way and serves as the perfect celebration to wrap up an amazing summer camp season.

In preparation for our party, the children created their own tie-dye T-shirts. They carefully applied the dye, thoughtfully choosing bright, vibrant colors to create unique designs. As they worked, they watched with excitement as the colors spread, blended, and bled together, producing beautiful patterns and unexpected color combinations. Each child took great pride in designing a one-of-a-kind shirt, making this special tradition even more meaningful.
The Clay Studio

Clay Studio joined in on the spirit of our pizza party by hosting a pizza party of their own! The children created their own colorful pizza slices, decorating them with fun toppings, including rhinestones and beads. They patted down their clay slabs, cut out a wedge, and embellished their pizzas with sparkling toppings.

Soccer Shots

We had one last round of soccer drills, and the children were all decked out in their colorful tie-dye outfits! It was the perfect way to celebrate their final soccer session and put all the skills they had been practicing throughout the summer to the test.
The children engaged in scrimmage games and worked on a variety of skills, including the pullback, step-over, ball control, and, of course, scoring lots of goals!

Before you go….
We’d like to thank all of our amazing ADM and camp families for another unforgettable summer! From colorful tie-dye creations and dancing to hands-on art, exciting science experiments, and our special visit from the Philadelphia Fire Department, every day brought new opportunities to learn, laugh, and make lasting memories.

Thank you for allowing us to spend the summer with your wonderful children. It has been a joy watching them grow, explore, and have fun together. We wish you a safe, happy, and relaxing remainder of the summer!
With warm wishes,
Cherise
