February Updates in Primary ADM!

Happy February Primary ADM families!

It’s been wonderful to have our entire community back in the classroom. We have observed lots of independent work as children have been eager to explore new challenges and practice old favorites. 

The children have also really enjoyed working along side friends. This allows them to socialize and learn from their peers.

The Kindergarteners have started practicing reading aloud to younger children, to each other, and to adults. This has been a joyful way for them to practice reading as well as connect to their classmates. They record the books they read in a Reading Log. It is all in preparation for reading to the Toddler Community in the spring. In keeping with our school-wide Covid protocols, we may have to make video recordings of them reading books to be played in the Toddler classrooms rather than having the Ks visit the classroom in person.  

Reminders:

• Valentine’s Day
  • bring Valentines by Friday, February 12th
  • Please make sure to only sign your child’s name. This will make it easier to distribute the Valentines. It also prevents hurt feelings.
  • Observations (March 4th, 2021 9:15AM & March 9th, 2021 10AM)
  • Conferences (March 12th, 2021 & March 19th, 2021)
  • As the weather is still COLD, please make sure your child has winter-appropriate clothes- especially gloves or mittens. We go outside as much as possible and want them to be comfortable and safe!
