RSVP for Dr. MLK, Jr. Day of Service

Martin Luther King Day of Service

When:  Monday, January 21st, 9:00am-12:00pm

Where:  GTMS West Movement Room

Edit 1/17/19:  Thanks to everyone who has volunteered to participate in our MLK Day of Service project next Monday, January 21st, in the movement room at GTMS West!   

We will again be making birthday boxes for children in local homeless and domestic abuse shelters.  Each box includes all the necessities for a family to throw a birthday party for their child: cake mix, frosting, and candles for a cake, decorations; a book and a small gift; and a birthday card that our children will make for them. 

We ask that each participating family bring $20 to the event to cover the cost of materials for the birthday boxes; cash or check payable to Greene Towne will be accepted.

We could still use a few volunteers to assist with set up, and to guide participating families through the service project.  You can volunteer HERE.

Each year, GTMS participates in the Martin Luther King Day of Service by completing a charitable project.  This year, we will again be assembling and decorating birthday boxes for children in homeless and domestic abuse shelters.  Each box includes all the necessities for a family to throw a birthday party for their child: cake mix, frosting, and candles for a cake, decorations; a book and a small gift; and a birthday card that our children will make for them.  Our birthday boxes not only give a birthday party to a child who may not otherwise have one, but they also give a family the ability to do something special for their child.

One hour time slots from 9:00am – 12:00pm are available to each participating family.  

To cover the cost of materials for the birthday boxes, a $20 payment per family will be accepted the day of the project; cash or check payable to GTMS are both accepted.
