We all know how good it feels to be in a state of deep concentration and purpose. That is the gift of the work cycle. To find “flow” while learning directly from your own hands brings inner satisfaction and a kind of peace that Maria Montessori believed could change the world for the better.
It was so wonderful to meet with each of you during parent-teacher conferences. The children have already done so much more discovering of new capabilities in the short amount of time since then!
As winter break approaches, we look at the calendar and think about the change of the seasons, winter holidays in our many shared cultures, a new year, and even the tilt of the earth in relation to the sun, a solstice!
Moments for a child to shine and feel inside how much they are growing every day brings great peace to this time.
