Important update regarding COVID-19

Dear Families,

Last night, a parent of one of our students, who was in the West Building on Friday, March 13, learned that they were exposed to someone who has tested positive for COVID–19. The parent is in touch with medical professionals in an attempt to obtain a COVID-19 test. 

As soon as I learned this information last night, I contacted the Philadelphia Health Department Disease Control Hotline to advise of the parent contact and seek their guidance and advice concerning our next steps. I was advised that the risk to our children in the building is very low, and I have spoken with the adults who came in contact with this parent. Our concern first and foremost is for the health and well-being of all of those in our community and we will continue to put the safety of our students first by closely monitoring the status of COVID-19, deep cleaning our facilities during our closure, and implementing a heightened cleaning protocol upon the school’s reopening.
