Greene Towne Update – Building Closures Through at least 4/30/2020

Dear Greene Towne families,

Thank you to those who have participated in Greene Towne @ Home, our first week of supporting at home learning, and those who provided feedback for the program through the weekly survey, sent for the first time at the end of last week. 

The Governor of Pa has called for a stay-at-home order through April 30, so our schools buildings will remain closed at least through the month of April. Rather than set an arbitrary date or leave it open-ended, I will be reassessing our need to stay at home and communicating with you regularly regarding our status. As we have over the past three weeks, we continue to monitor carefully the news and health alerts for our region. I send my gratitude and best wishes to all of the members of our school community who are health care workers, as well as the many families whose businesses and work of all kinds are affected by this difficult time. 

Our goal with our at home learning program is to provide a variety of resources, suggested activities, and on-demand as well as live circle times for all of our classes, designed for families to choose from, based on what’s best for you. 

I am proud of the program that our teachers are creating. Our teachers have, in a very short time, applied their expertise in child development and how children learn to make the best of this challenging situation. Thank you for helping us to refine based on what works best for you and your child, and thank you for your understanding as we find a balance in what we are able to adapt and provide.
