Happy New Year Parents!
I hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday season. The children seem to have grown in the past two weeks and are even more confident.
December is always a festive and exciting month for us, with lots of fun activities. The children enjoyed all the seasonal art projects, especially the Reindeer and Dreidel crafts.
“What are you doing”? This is the question I hear quite often. The children are in a period where they are enjoying learning and are very curious about what the adults are doing. Even if it’s just cutting paper, fruit or vegetables take the time to answer their simple questions, they are asking because they don’t know. This also helps develop language skills, encouraging them to converse back and forth. Also, ask open-ended questions like “What do you think I am doing” This helps them think about a response.
“The child has a type of mind that absorbs knowledge and instructs himself.” ― Maria Montessori, The Absorbent Mind
