#3 Painting in your self portrait and choosing a background

Now that you have a drawing of yourself, you are ready to mix a just right color for your skin – you will need white, yellow, orange or red and brown paint (remember if you dont have brown paint you can mix it using all the primary colors, red, yellow and blue) I used white tempera paint and mixed it with my water colors.

Have fun painting in your self portrait!

I bet your Self Portrait looks amazing.

Now you have some choices to make about your background – find a pair of scissors and carefully cut around your portrait (you can always have an adult help if you need to)

If you want to make a background inspired by Kahinde Wiley you will need to look for some patterned paper – wrapping paper with a flowery design or even a shape or line pattern would work great! Watch the video to see how!

Don’t forget to post a picture to PADLET when your done!
