Thank you for a great year!

We cared for 5 Painted Lady caterpillars that metamorphosized into butterflies. The children were able to observe the caterpillars molt, build their chrysalides, and hatch as butterflies. We had them in our butterfly net for a few days before releasing them in the courtyard.

There were many birthdays in May and June, including Ms. Diana’s and Ms. Maggie’s! Here are photos of some of our birthday celebrations.

Taking advantage of the warm weather, the children made popsicles with Ms. Allison. There were three flavors- blueberry, strawberry, and Nila wafer. The children enjoyed them outside and at the snack table.

The K’s hosted a Kindness Lemonade stand this month. The younger children offered hugs, handshakes, high-fives, compliments, and words of encouragement in exchange for a glass of lemonade. All the children were invited to help prepare the lemonade the afternoon before and the Kindergarteners made a sign. We also had a freeze dance party after the children finished their lemonade. We even had a special visitor that you can spot in the background of some of the photos- Mr. Och!

In honor of Pride month, Ms. Allison brought in a book about the creation of the Pride flag that she shared with the children in the afternoon. She also created a Pride flag work so the children could create their own.

This month and a half brought lots of opportunities for show-n-tell. Here are a few examples of the wonderful things children brought to share with their community.

And finally, here are some snapshots of children working!
