In lieu of any formal celebration of Halloween at Greene Towne, each classroom organizes crafts and other projects to celebrate the season. Our students do not wear costumes or bring candy to share.

Now that we have established that, here are some helpful hints for your child during the Halloween season.

1. Scary is often not good.

2. Children may like dressing up. When considering your child’s costume, think about whether your child can walk safely and use the toilet independently.

3. Masks can be challenging for young children to wear. Make up can be a comfortable and less scary solution.

4. Going to a neighborhood celebration is a good opportunity to recognize Halloween. Stay for a short time and when you see signs of fatigue, home is steps away.

5. When visiting houses for trick-or-treating, limit that number or play “trick or treat” at home. If you do go trick-or-treating, please TRICK-or-TREAT for UNICEF. We will send home a UNICEF collection box THIS FRIDAY! The UNICEF organization has been collecting funds with the help of America’s children since 1950. Please return the collection boxes to the lobby desk by Monday, November 5, 2018. For more information log on to www.UNICEF.org.
