Eight weeks have passed by so quickly.

The last session of summer camp was filled with fun and adventure. We made our way to the West campus without a hitch. The children settled in quickly, enjoying the new space and activities.

• 

During our final session of camp we focused on Art.

The toddlers made these lively collages inspired by the work of Henri Matisse through the use of scrap paper and pieces of construction paper cut into organic shapes. These lovely compositions would make the artist himself proud.

The primary children looked at the work of Piet Mondrian and made these colorful compositions using black strips of paper and paint in primary colors. 

•

We did a color theory workshop with Mad Science. The group made coffee filter butterflies and their own personal color wheels.

•

• 

At the end of our time together this summer we did a school-wide tie dye project.

Very excited by the results, the children proudly changed into their shirts upon arrival on the last day of camp.

We also enjoyed some pizza before saying our goodbyes. Many of the children referred to the day as the “Tie Dye Pizza Party”.

On behalf of Patrick, Alexis, Desiree and  Ben, I can tell you all that it has been a blast hanging out and getting to know your children. There were many familiar faces and children we met and who met each other for the first time. It is always a joy to make new connections within our Greene Towne community. Thank you all for a wonderful summer!
