Supporting Greene Towne means growing and building an exceptional learning environment for our children’s most important years. It also means growing a rich and diverse community that spans the past, present and beautiful future. Choosing to support us is a wonderful gift in itself, and there are many ways to contribute directly to the bright future of GTMS and our students. Each year we ask the members of our school community to participate in annual giving, to the extent they are able. The Board of Trustees, Faculty and Staff demonstrate their leadership through 100% participation in Annual Fund each year. We are also deeply grateful for the broad support from alumni and alumni parents, grandparents, and many other friends of the school. No gift is too great or too small, and every gift makes a difference to the lifelong learning of our children.
A MESSAGE FROM OUR LEADERSHIP
Life at Greene Towne is better because of your contributions to our Annual Fund. Please join our faculty, staff and Board of Trustees with their 100% participation and write a check or make a gift to show your support. Remember, no contribution is too small and every dollar makes an impact. Our children’s promise is worthy of your investment.
With warm regards,
Sarah Sweeney-Denham & Kernika Gupta
Head of School & Board President
The Annual Fund provides a foundation of support for strategic initiatives of our school, as determined by our Head of School in collaboration with the Board and Finance Committee. This includes ensuring a robust tuition assistance program, sponsoring faculty for Montessori and professional training, conferences and workshops, physical plant improvements, and classroom enhancements. Your gift helps bring dreams to fruition. All gifts are fully tax-deductible for the donor.
Each family is asked to participate in the Annual Fund to the extent they are able. We are also grateful for broad support from alumni and alumni parents, grandparents, and other friends of the school. Leadership gifts and participatory gifts of any size are important for a successful Annual Fund.
Supporters of the Annual Fund may choose to direct their gift to a certain area of the school:
- Classroom materials
- Faculty/Staff professional development and training
- Tuition Assistance
- Facilities
Greene Towne’s founders believed that every child deserves a great start to a lifetime of learning. Throughout our school’s 59 year history, we have proudly provided tuition assistance to qualifying families through our board-designated tuition assistance in our operating budget. Greene Towne also receives funding through Pennsylvania’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) and Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) programs.
How does this work?
Individuals and businesses with $3,500 or more in PA state tax liability can direct their taxes to Greene Towne and receive a 90% PA tax credit in return.
For example, if you owe $5000 in PA taxes, you can designate that amount to Greene Towne. Then you will receive a PA state tax credit for $4500. Greene Towne would receive the full amount of your gift, restricted to tuition assistance for qualifying families, and it is only $500 out of your pocket.
How can you help?
Join our school community in supporting this invaluable opportunity by making a contribution to help children get their start to a lifetime of learning. Anyone can participate from family members (grandparents) to businesses.
Does your employer offer a charitable gift Matching Program? If so, you could double or triple your Annual Fund donation to Greene Towne. Please contact your employer’s Human Resources office to learn more and obtain the required paperwork. This simple process could double or triple your contribution to Greene Towne!
