Grandparents play a vital role in the lives of children, providing a steady source of love, wisdom, and support that enriches their lives. A grandparent’s unique gifts and presence are cherished by our community.
Each year, our Head of School, Sarah Sweeney-Denham, along with Development Director, Amanda Reath, host a special Grandparent Zoom session to share an inside peek into the children’s Montessori learning and the meaningful work they do daily. Grandparents explore the important role they play in a child’s Montessori education and development.
Early in December, nearly 50 grandparents joined Sarah and Amanda for this special opportunity over Zoom.
In addition, grandparents of Primary and Lower Elementary children have an opportunity to visit Greene Towne in the Spring for “Grandparents & Special Friends Day.”

“As grandparents of Greene Towne students we are very impressed by their continuing growth and development. We are quite certain that Greene Towne Montessori School has a great deal to do with their interest in learning about the people, places and natural surroundings in the world around them.” – Grandparents of children in our Toddler House and Primary program
“Our only grandchild is very active and is very sociable. He is also interested in books, having “a library” on every floor of his parents’ home. His mother sends us photos of his activities almost daily and we can see how active and involved he is. Recently, he was with his father putting food in a fridge for the needy. It was heart-warming to watch him organize the contributions. Our grandson joined your community from a very early age. We are proud of his development and thank the school for having such a positive impact on his life to date.”– Grandparents of a Kindergartner
