Hello Parents!

We are very excited about getting to know your children and to partner with you through this important journey in your children’s life. It was an unusually late start to the school year, but your children are adjusting to their new routine nicely. We are now beginning to see their true personalities which means that they are comfortable in the environment.

The children had so much fun with our ocean theme work and have been introduced to collaging seahorses in the art area. We read the book and played the song Octopus’s Garden. by the Beatles. On the play deck, the children got to smell some of the wonderful herbs planted by Ms. Erika.

Thank you all for attending the Parent Coffee. I hope the information given was helpful. Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns.

As we discussed during the coffee, a huge part of the Montessori philosophy is fostering independence. With the cold weather coming the children are practicing the “up and over” method to put on their jackets. This is really helpful when we are getting the children ready for outdoor playtime. Here is a short video I would like you to view: Up and Over 2017

We moved into our Fall and Halloween-themed work! You will be seeing and hearing a lot about pumpkins, leave, and apples. The Five Little Pumpkins song will quickly become one of the children’s favorite songs.

Five Little Pumpkins

Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate

The first one said, “Oh my, it’s getting late!”

The second one said “There is magic in the air”

The third one said, ” but we don’t care!”

The fourth one said “let’s run and run and run”

The fifth one said, “I’m ready for some fun!”

Ooo ooo went the wind, and out went the light

And the five little pumpkins rolled out of sight

Thank you,

Ms. Desiree
