When: Monday, January 20th, 9:00AM-12:00PM
Where: GTMS, 55 N. 22nd Street
Each year, GTMS families celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a charitable project to lift people up. This year, we will again be assembling and decorating birthday boxes for children in the Turning Points for Children program. Each box includes all the necessities for a family to throw a birthday party for their child: cake mix, frosting, candles, decorations, a book and a small gift, and a birthday card made by GTMS students. Our birthday boxes not only give a birthday party to a child who may not otherwise have one, but they also give a family the ability to do something special for their child.
The Birthday In A Box project is like a party itself—we would love for you to join us! Time slots from 9:00AM – 12:00PM are available for participating families. A total of 42 slots are available initially, with more added if those become full. Please RSVP for the event here.
To cover the cost of materials for the birthday boxes, a $20 payment per family will be accepted the day of the project; cash or check payable to ‘Greene Towne Montessori School’ are both welcome.

We hope you will save shoe boxes that roughly match the dimensions 12′ x 8′ x 5″! Please feel free to give those boxes to a GTMS staff member during pickup or drop-off, kindly letting them know it’s for the MLK project. Looking forward to you joining this special project!
