To kick off the Parent Ed Series, we welcome Dr. Lisa Dissinger, Greene Towne’s consulting child psychologist, for:

Managing Stress and Anxiety in Children | Wednesday October 2nd | 8:30am | 2121 Arch

How do you manage stress and anxiety in your child? Come join us to learn the difference between normal and excessive anxiety in children, and what you can do as a parent to help your child develop a healthy relationship with anxiety. You’ll come away with practical steps and resources, as well as the feeling that you and your child are not alone in this journey!  

Dr. Lisa Dissinger is a child psychologist and parent coach who has been in practice for 30 years. Dr. Dissinger specializes in early childhood and has worked in many of the Montessori preschools in the Philadelphia area. She has been Greene Towne’s consulting psychologist for over 25 years.

Later in October our own Lead Primary Teachers give us an overview of the multiage/multi-year Montessori classroom in an evening event:

Journey Through Primary | Tuesday October 22nd | 6:30pm | 55 North 22nd St

We invite you to take a journey through the Montessori Primary curriculum hosted by Greene Towne’s talented team of Primary teachers. The journey will take you through the three-year cycle your child experiences and highlight how each of the five curriculum areas serve their development and lay the foundation for a lifetime of curiosity and learning. 

The “Journey Through Primary” is a unique opportunity for parents and caregivers to experience the classroom as the child does, to gain insight into the incredible theory and curriculum we offer, and to look beyond your child’s current stage of development and imagine the rich possibilities that await them as they experience the three-year mixed age cycle. This complimentary workshop is open to the wider community and perfect for parents of toddler-Kindergarten age children. Share with friends, neighbors, and family! This is an adults only evening event and childcare is not provided.
