October at a Glance

School just started, but that nip in the air means fall is officially on its way. Here are the events to look out for in October:

School Closings

School will be closed for all students on Friday, October 11 and Monday, October 14.

Parent Coffees

Each classroom will have a parent coffee, where the Lead Teacher(s) will discuss what the children are studying and give parents even more insight into the world of Montessori. Check the calendar for your teacher’s coffee.

Additional Coffees

Current Kindergarten families have a coffee on Tuesday, October 1. This is to go over events of the year and answer any questions anyone may have now that the school year has started. 

On Wednesday, October 30, next year’s Kindergarten families are invited to a coffee to speak with alum parents about their experience post-Greene Towne.

Tours

Current Toddler parents are invited to take a Primary Orientation tour with Erika Goldberg to learn more about the Primary program. The All Day Montessori tour is on Thursday, October 3  at 8:15am at GTMS West and the School Day Montessori tour is on Tuesday, October 8 at 8:15am at GTMS East.

GPA Meeting

The Greene Towne Parent Association will have a meeting on Monday, October 7, 8:15am at GTMS East. See you there!

Parent Education Workshops

Kindergarten Parent Workshop: The Kindergarten Year at Greene Towne! Wednesday, October 2 at 6pm. This outlines the curriculum of the K year and what makes this capstone year so special.

Power of Positive Parenting with Child Psychologist Lisa Dissinger, Thursday, October 17 at 6pm.

Parent Observations begin on Monday, October 28. Stay tuned to the Bulletin for the sign up.
