 Welcome Back Parents.
Happy 2021!

Here is a recap of our time together at the close of 2020.

We started off the month of November celebrating Zach’s birthday. Zach turned two and brought in a photo board to share at circle and some cupcakes for his classmates.

(Birthday celebrations look a bit different for us since November. I will be sharing a revised version of our birthday celebration document via email that includes new protocols we have in place.)

One book that the children have recently been enjoying is “Old Mikamba had a Farm” by Rachel Isadora. In it are many African animals, some familiar such as the zebra, elephant and lion and some new to us such as the springbok, the dassie and the warthog. Drawing inspiration from this, we pulled out our Africa box. There are a variety of animals, fabric and photos in this box for the children to explore.

Before we departed for our winter break, we took a moment to admire and rest in front of the Christmas tree display. There was a bit of snowfall. This caused us to spend some days indoors, but in true Montessori fashion we brought the outside in with some snow fresh from the courtyard. We added some penguins to sift out of the snow pile. The children did a few seasonal crafts including snowflake stamping and ugly sweaters.

Here are a few dates to remember for the month of January.

  • Friday, January 15th: Professional Development-SCHOOL CLOSED
  • Monday, January 18: Martin Luther King Jr. Day-SCHOOL CLOSED
  • Wednesday, January 20: Toddler House Parent Workshop
 Best,
Cherise, Anne and Alexis
