Greene Towne Reopening Guidelines for Summer 2020

June 10, 2020

Dear Greene Towne families,

I am sharing with you the framework for reopening for in-person learning at Greene Towne for ADM families this summer.

As Philadelphia has entered the yellow phase, Greene Towne will reopen for in-person learning only for our Toddler and Primary All Day Montessori students who have signed up for summer session. We have not yet determined if we will be holding Summer Camp. ADM students will have half days on June 22 and June 23, and resume full schedule on Wednesday, June 24.

The health and safety of our children, families and our faculty and staff are of utmost importance to all of us. I have personally researched extensive resources to gather the best practices for mitigating risk of infection in early childhood education settings. Greene Towne’s protocols meet and in many cases exceed the best guidance from the CDC and the City of Philadelphia Department of Public Health for early childhood.

These protocols specifically apply to our summer programs at Greene Towne. While they are highly reflective of procedures that will be in place for the 2020-21 school year, there will be additional procedures added for the coming school year, including the potential for staggered arrival times in the mornings between 8am-9am. Families can expect to receive additional information as we finalize it. Staff training and preparation will be taking place next week.

I encourage all families to review the guidelines carefully and I am sure that you will have questions. I will be holding an info session for Greene Towne families over the next few weeks to be able to discuss further.

Please reach out if you would like to connect in the meantime.

With all best wishes for your health and safety,

Sarah Sweeney-Denham
Head of School
