A Letter from our Host Family Co-Chairs!

Dear Parents,

As the school year comes to a close, please consider volunteering to help welcome a new family to the GTMS community as part of the Host Family Program. Being a Host Family is easy and provides you and your child the opportunity to make new friends!

As a Host Family volunteer, you will be matched with a new GTMS family. Your responsibilities will be to reach out to your assigned family, offer them assistance, and schedule a play date. It doesn’t take a lot of time and can have a great impact. Below is some more detail about the ways in which you can provide support to new families through the Host Family Program:

a) Reach out to the new family with whom you are matched to make them feel welcome

b)    Answer questions about the school and classroom

c)    Direct any specific or more complicated questions to the administration

d)    Remind the family to attend events (e.g., potlucks, picnics, auction, socials)

e)    Check in with the family throughout the year

Please respond to us at [email protected] to let us know if you are interested. We will then match you with a family over the summer.

We hope you’ll be a part of this important program. Thanks very much for your consideration.

Sincerely,

Carina Laguzzi and Shari Mintz (Host Family Committee Chairs)
