Martin Luther King Day of Service at GTMS

Martin Luther King Day of Service

Monday, January 16th

This year we again will be making birthday boxes for children in area homeless shelters.  Last year’s day of service was a great success, and we look forward to completing this project again as a community.

One-hour slots are still available at 11:00 and 12:00 for interested families (one slot per family, please).  More will be added if those become full.

$20 cash per family to be paid at the event.

Event will be held in the GTMS West Building Movement Room.

Snacks and all necessary supplies will be made available by GTMS.

Please RSVP here to select a time for your family.

If your family cannot attend the event, but you would like to participate, we always need donations!  Party supplies like cake mix, candles, balloons, plates, and decorations are a big help!

Each year, GTMS participates in the Martin Luther King Day of Service by completing a charitable project.  This year we will be making birthday boxes for children in area homeless shelters.

Each box will have the necessities for a mother and/or father to throw their child a birthday party – cake mix, icing, and candles for a cake; decorations; a book and a small gift; and a birthday card that our children will make for them.

Almost half of all homeless children in this country are age 5 or younger.  The birthday boxes we make will not only give a birthday party to a child who likely would not otherwise have one, but they will also give a family the ability to do something special for their child.

Donations of toys from Momo’s Tree House in Old City have made this project possible.

Please contact Katie Rubin ([email protected]) with any questions or to donate party supplies.

We hope you can join us for this exciting project!
