Trick or Treat for UNICEF
Greene Towne Montessori School is participating in the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF program this Halloween. We hope you’ll be excited to participate with us, but please feel no pressure.
This is completely VOLUNTARY!
UNICEF donation boxes will go home in your child’s folder on Friday, October 28th. Should you choose to participate, please return your child’s box to the lobby desk at either East or West building no later than Monday, November 7th.
About Trick or Treat for UNICEF: The annual tradition of Kids Helping Kids® has helped to raise more than $175 million since 1950. Each Halloween, kids go door-to-door with orange boxes to collect funds in support of UNICEF’s lifesaving work for the world’s children providing medicine, nutrition, clean water, emergency relief and education. When you Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, small donations add up to big changes in children’s lives. For example, just $15.00 can provide a child with clean, safe water for an entire year.
How you can help your children solicit donations:
Included in the Friday Folder with the Trick-or-Treat box will be a parent resource with ways to discuss the fund-raiser with your children.
When coaching your kids on how to ask for donations, keep it SIMPLE and easy:
- Hi, I’m raising money for UNICEF. They make it easier for kids to go to school.
- Would you like to make a small donation? Even a penny would help.
- Thank you so much and Happy Halloween!
You can elaborate if you think it’s appropriate, but many people will already be familiar with UNICEF and this Halloween tradition.
