We are thrilled to introduce a new way of connecting with you and keeping you informed about our school life: the schoolwide GTMS Weekly Blog! 

What’s New?

The blog will be your go-to source for learnings, insights, and resources related to Montessori and the Greene Towne experience. Here’s what you can expect:

• Monthly Themes: At the beginning of each month, we’ll dive into our monthly theme and explore how it connects with Montessori principles and child development
• Podcast: The podcast will align with our monthly theme and highlight the voices and expertise of our amazing faculty who work with your children every day
• DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging) Efforts: We’ll share how this work is woven into our curriculum and how organically it aligns with the developmentally based learning that is Montessori.
• Classroom Anecdotes and Tips for Home: Look forward to anecdotes from our classrooms that tie in with the monthly theme as well as practical tips on things to do at home to support your child(ren)’s development. 

What’s Changing?

Classroom teachers will provide announcements and updates through Transparent Classroom rather than through monthly classroom blogs as they have in the past. This shift allows each classroom a space to share personalized updates with their families that aren’t in the public domain. And it allows us to concentrate the blog’s focus on broader school-wide themes and resources, enhancing our community connection.

September’s Theme: Community Building

Montessori classrooms are designed to be communities where children learn to collaborate, respect each other, and contribute to a shared environment. Building a strong community enhances children’s social skills and also supports their emotional and academic growth. 

Community has always been central to who Greene Towne Montessori School is. We are so much more, and we give so much more, when we build on each other’s character, talents and skills. Last week our whole staff gathered for a week of professional development, community building and preparations to welcome your children for another year of learning and growth.

We learned alongside each other and from each other and laid a solid foundation for a year of growth and support. In addition to the new blog format, be on the lookout for social media posts this month introducing you to each classroom teaching team. We can’t wait for you to get to know them all and learn more about our wonderful community!
