Thank you to everyone for a wonderful start to the new year. We are still adjusting, but everyone is taking it in stride in their own time. Here are a few nuts and bolts reminders for parents – thanks in advance for your help and for sharing these reminders with caregivers/relatives who pick up/drop off!
Strollers
Please keep the doorways clear when loading and unloading children from strollers, keeping in mind the lobby has very limited space. Please be sure to collapse strollers when parking them in our two designated stroller parking areas. We will fill up the stroller room behind the front desk FIRST, then overflow will go under the stairs.
Traveling by car
When traveling by car, we recommend that parents retrieve/buckle-in children from the curbside. Traffic moves quickly on 22nd street and Walden is a two-way street, so cars can drive by from either direction.
At Dismissal
1) At 11:45 and 2:45 dismissals: Please use the MyGTMS dismissal check out function:
- Once you arrive at school to pick up your child, you will click a button on the MyGTMS dashboard under the section titled Pickup Notification with your child’s name (visible only to you): “I am here to pick up: Johnny Appleseed, Jane Appleseed.”
- There’s also a way for you to share the link with a relative/nanny/babysitter who is designated as authorized to pick up. Click “Share” at the top of the section.
- Clicking the button will alert Greene Towne administrators that you are here. Please only click the button when you have arrived – we request/pull children from the classrooms or dismissal area based on the check out list, then we can safely mark children as dismissed once they have left.
- Children may need to clean up/get a diaper change/etc. on their way out the door. We request patience as we move as quickly and safely as possible.
2) Dismissal is a busy time! When you see your child come out with dismissing staff, please separate from the crowd – come forward or wave to help us connect you with your child. After your child has been dismissed to you or your caregiver, please help us keep visual track of whom to dismiss by stepping away from the front doors.
Changes in Dismissal
Please be sure all changes of dismissal are made in writing. Email changes to office@gtms.org or stop by the front desk as front door staff are not able to take verbal messages at the door.
Thank you so much for your partnership and understanding! We are looking forward to the best year yet at Greene Towne!
