The Annual GTMS Food Drive is Next Week!

This year our Food Drive will benefit Philadelphia’s SHARE Food Program.  Philadelphia SHARE provides a reliable stream of nutritious food to a network of 505 local volunteer-led food cupboards.  In addition to providing emergency food relief, SHARE also runs a community garden, providing residents in the surrounding community with increased access to local produce.  Last year, SHARE brought 27 million pounds of emergency food relief to low-income Philadelphia residents facing hunger. 

The GTMS Food Drive will run from November 18th – 22nd.  Please bring non-perishable food items to donation boxes located at the school entrances (East or West).  SHARE’s most needed items this year are tuna fish, peanut butter and jelly, and canned fruits and vegetables with easy-to-open tops.  Once the Food Drive is over, our Kindergarteners will help sort the donations.
